  • At this local newspaper, I pitched and wrote science-related articles that interested the people of Salinas, an agricultural community in central California.

Jan-May 2014 Graduate assistant: Science writing — San Francisco State University 

  • I assisted science writer Janet Hopson-Dommer in teaching undergraduate students the principles of science writing for the public understanding of science. I also edited the students' writing in AP Style. 

​2013-2014 Graduate Partner for HHMI Classroom Evidence Collection Partnership         

  • Collaborated with SF State Biology faculty to implement innovative teaching strategies in an introductory biology lecture classroom.                                                     

2012-2013 Instructor: Introductory biology laboratory — San Francisco State University 

  • Using the Introductory Biology lab manual as an outline, I designed lesson plans, structure lab activities, and develop methods to evaluate student understanding. The lab centered on biodiversity, ecological concepts, and phylogenic relationships of life on Earth.
